Local Derry Singer/Songwriter Soak has won the prestigious 2016 Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year for the album Before We Forgot How To Dream, released via Rough Trade.
As we all know her as Bridie, Soak was presented with the award by U2's Adam Clayton which the event was held in Dublin.
Soak, aka Bridie Monds-Watson, received a cheque for €10,000, provided by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) - as well as a specially-commissioned award.
The sold out event held in Vicar Street in Dublin was hosted by Undertones band member Paul Mcloone who presented his RTE 2FM radio show live from the event.
