The popular pub Clarendon Bar based on bottom of Clarendon Street in Derry is to reopen as a new Miami Style Bar which has been taken over by new management this week with a creation of 200 jobs to the city.
The cities local pub Clarendon Bar has been open in the city for many years and closed a few years ago due to downturn in trade within the city but now the pub is about to under go a new transformation into a new super pub with stylish lounges according to reports.
it has been taken over by new management Michael Taggart who won the license in Bishop Street Court House with the license transferred to Michael who is known locally by owning many bars/clubs including Cafe Roc, Coles, Alleymans. With locations also in Miami and London so he will certainly know a thing or two about how to run a very stylish bar in the city.
Speaking about the project a source said “It will have a very international feel and will be nothing like we’ve seen in Derry before,”
The new bar will create up to 200 jobs in the next year with the bar expected to be ready to open it's doors in Spring 2016.
The re-design will ooze sophistication and is aimed at attracting customers from all over the North West,” said the source.
“Sister premises in Miami and in London are hugely popular.”
We look forward to this new bar opening later in 2016 which is expected to be a boost to the city's nearby Quayside and Strand Road area.
