It’s fair to say the team from NN comics and guys at Angry Cherry truly underestimated the power of the Nerd in Derry, with a staggering turn out for the charity ‘Big Nerd Quiz’,
A quiz organised by Nathan Donnell and Niall Cavanagh of NN Comics and supported by the dream team at Angry Cherry. The quiz was in aid of Poca a local non-profit organisation founded by Edelle Canning. Parents of Older Children with Autism is parent led facility and resource for parents and kids with autism, they run a weekly youth club and arrange outings and events for young people affect by ASD to meet and mingle and engage with other kids in similar position. It provides a vital service with in our community as it is estimated that autism affects more than 1 in every 100 people in the UK.

What was truly overwhelming was the support and enthusiasm of the nerds that really made this event a success with the winning team ‘Quiz on your Face’ smashing into first place with victory painted on their faces, proving to all the team were true nerds who knew their stuff!

All and all the night was a roaring success, not only was money raised to help support the vital work Poca are doing, the quiz also helped raise awareness of the organisation and hopefully of Autism itself.
