A new local film production company Shackleton Studios Limited who are currently renting the former Ballykelly Army base outside the city of Derry are now looking to buy the full site for future film productions.
The former site is currently been demolished and a part of the site will be the new Department of Agriculture in the coming years when work is complete and local film production company Shackleton Studios is looking into space in the Ballykelly site.
Jo Gilbert from Shackleton Studios brought her first films to East Belfast but now coming to the northwest area of Northern Ireland to film and
her company has now leased the Shackleton base and is turning it into production office and studio space to rent out to production teams for film and television shoots.
"We are here for the long term," she said.
